The degausser is fast, taking as little as ten seconds to completely erase a cassette. It\u2019s simple to use and provides a thoroughly effective and low cost means of degaussing DLT, DAT and other high coercivity tape. In addition to its NATO approval, it has been approved to CESG standard for restricted or less for the secure erasure and destruction of information and data stored on magnetic media up to TOP SECRET<\/strong> level.\u00a0 This security degausser is approved by\u00a0UK government and has met the CESG Degaussing Standard. The degausser is ideal for the security conscious, low volume operator who wants to have a professional low budget solution to eliminate magnetic media security risks.<\/span><\/p>\n

This new Standard, which replaces the SEAP 8500 Degaussing Standard has two levels of degaussing:<\/span><\/p>\n

Lower Level – for RESTRICTED and below.<\/span><\/p>\n

Higher Level – for CONFIDENTIAL and above<\/span><\/p>\n

Currently the degausser is approved at the Lower Level. This means any magnetic media (holding RESTRICTED or less) may be regarded as NOT PROTECTIVELY MARKED after being degaussed.<\/span><\/p>\n
