The Serial ATA (SATA) is a new standard interface for IDE hard disk drives. Instead of the traditional 40 pin connectors and ribbon cables, the new serial ATA drives utilize a thin round cable and a very small connector (somewhat resembling a USB cable).
This special computer forensics adapter is used to connect SATA drives to our duplicators. The SATA Adapter is connected to the Serial ATA drive which then provides traditional parallel cable connection (on the other end of our units). Users can mix serial and parallel drives in the same session but some speed variations will occur. The Serial ATA is one of several computer forensic tools produced to improve the performance of the computer forensic systems we have to offer.
